Volunteer Listings Do you have a special talent? Would you like to make a difference in the life of a child? Please consider becoming a YMCA Volunteer The YMCA is a mission driven volunteer based community organization that has been in existence for over 150 years. For over 100 years the YMCA of Western Monmouth County has been enriching the lives of countless families and individuals in Monmouth, Mercer and Middlesex counties. In order to continue to fulfill our mission, we need assistance from individuals in our community who believe in our mission and the character values of respect, caring, honesty and responsibility that we incorporate into programs that we teach. There are many areas available within our organization, at any one of our branches: Freehold, Freehold Borough Community Center, Camp Topanemus, Hightstown/East Windsor and Old Bridge, for volunteer opportunities. All of our committees and our Boards of Directors and Management are made up of volunteers. Below is a list of the volunteer opportunities that are available. Babysitting – ages 16 & over Do you enjoy entertaining and playing with children. We would love to have you as a part of our babysitting program for parents who are working out at our facility. Mondays to Fridays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.; Sundays 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Two hour shifts are available |

Sports Coaching – ages 16 & over If you like sports and working with children, this is a great opportunity for you. Help our coaches teach children a variety of sports like basketball, flag football and much more. Mondays – Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00/7:00 p.m. Most classes are an hour in length. flag football and much more. Fundraising – ages 18 & over Super 50/50 Raffle - Annually we hold a Super 50/50 raffle and we need volunteers to help us sell raffle tickets. Price is $100 per ticket and the goal is to sell 500 tickets for a super prize of $17,500.00 1st Prize; $5,000.00 2nd Prize; $2,500.00 3rd Prize. We begin selling tickets in December and continue until March when the Annual Black-tie Gala is held and the prize is drawn.

Strong Kids Annual Support Campaign – we need volunteers to help us solicit contributions for our Strong Kids Annual Support Campaign that funds the YCares Financial Assistance Program. This campaign is vitally important to helping us assist many children and families in the community. |

Annual Golf Outing – Committee members needed to secure sponsors, golfers, gifts for the event which is held in October. |

Annual Black-tie Gala – Committee members needed to secure sponsors, ad for journal, silent auction items for the event which is held in March. |

Membership Department Lobby Greeters – Greet members at our front entrance during the following hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon |

Clerical – Assist with data entry, answering phones, stuffing envelopes, conducting surveys |
